Main Manto Nahi Hoon the intriguing title and the writers name attached with this project automatically raises our hopes for this drama serial, although recently Khalil ul Rehman's  plays Gentleman and  Sun Mere Dil has failed to create any impact. Once known for his gripping plots and razor edge dialogues, KRQ's plays now has now reduced to merely parody plays seems like mocking both its own stories and characters. Main Manto Nahi Hoon is penned by Khalil ul Reham Qamar and executed by Nadeem Baig a duo not new. It airs every Friday and Saturday only on Ary Digital. 

With an ensemble cast having Humayyun Saeed and  Sajal Aly in the leads. The play is star studded with names like Asif Raza Mir, Babar Ali, Saima, Saba Hameed, Saba Faisal,  Sanam Saeed,  Usman Peerzada, Azaan Sami , Nameer khan and others. Performances  by the actors are brilliant but at places it seems to go waste with problematic themes and absurd dialogues. One of the pleasant appearances is the new face of Khalil ul Rehman Qamar's own son Duraib Khalil.

As far as the story line is concerned its intended to be an intense love story but failed to create an impact rather ending as a comic situation. Based on a forbidden love story of  an Economics Professor Manto (Humayyun Saeed)  with his student Mehmil (Sajal Aly) seems as inappropriate as it sounds. The dialogues the involvement of other female Professor Ms Maria and her passionately backing and supporting Manto to pursue his love for his own student is wrong at so many levels. It is actually her who has put the idea in Manto's head that he loves Mehmil. 

The star of the show Saima jee whose mesmerizing appearance on screen  is a treat to watch but with equally absurd dialogues provides potential material for memes. It would be not wrong to say that it is Surraiya Phupho ( Saima Jee ) who has convinced Mehmil that she truly loves her professor how inappropriate thing to do to actually support your own nibbling  to commit for a forbidden sort of a relation. Never she say that he is her teacher she should have respect him the way teachers should be respected. What kinda a messaging the play is giving through it that it is okay to have a relationship with your student? University teachers and students behavior towards this issuen shown is actually problematic.  

The deep rooted rivalry between Amardsari ( Asif Raza Mir) and Bin Yameen is an interesting trope and towards 26 and 27th episodes it has taken an interesting turn when Bin Yameen captures Shamrez (Nameer Khan) into his custody and asks Amardsari for Mehmil's hand for his villainous son Farhad( Azaan Sami) as a condition for their feud resolution . Mehmil is ready to become a scapegoat in this situation and she wants to sacrifice her love of life to marry the evil Farhad. Lets see how the story goes. Well to be honest the story was too dragging but this sudden twist in the story although predictable has made the audiences hooked to the screen. Problematic but interesting . So watch it at your own risk
