inki shadi unki shadi is set in a gothic style old haveli at Murree. The story builds interest right from the beginning and the pace of the story is one of its merits. The story revolves around two brothers Ali (Wahaaj) and Asad
( Arsalaan) who has lost their father. However the actual story begins after his death when their family lawyer reads his bizarre will with weird conditions to fulfill otherwise they will going to lose all their family property. Topmost condition is to start living in an abandoned Haveli near a hill station.
Well this is not the only condition in the will they have to arrange Ali's marriage as soon as possible within a month time frame. Ali the nonchalant guy who hardly get serious in life. The interesting turns in the play is when Ali meets Nadia ( Romaisa) an Instagram vlogger. Her character is like a breath of fresh air so full of life and her comic timings is as good as Asad's . Asad's sweet wife Zara starts brewing in her mind Ali and Nadia match as she is so resolute to fulfill the Will's condition so that they make sure they won't lose their family inheritance.
Well the story gets more interesting and spooky when we get introduced to the family of Jinns Azaar who are living in that haveli for over century. Azaar (Jibraan) has a deep rooted rivalry with the ancestors of Asad and Ali and He along with his wife Chamki (Tamkanat) wants to kill the whole human descendants of this Haveli. They are making all their efforts to make their life a hell. However Changhaiz Chacha ( Irfaan Motiwala) makes sure that the haveli and its members remain protected either with amulets or hisaar and wazifas . Jinns find great hindrances with their attempts to haunt the family.
The story unravels more when a female Jinn Khushi ( Sahar) falls in love at first sight with Ali she although engaged to a powerful Jinn makes her mind that she will only marry Ali. Sahar and Wahaaj sizzling chemistry is what makes it even more entertaining. Khushi finally discloses her reality to Ali who gets shocked but still he is bewitched by her beauty and is madly in love with her. The story has so many layers besides this romantic part there is a deep secret of the Haveli which Ali and Asad needs to unravel .
In short Jin ki Shadi unki shadi meets its hype well . It's a perfect
blend of horror, comedy, suspense and mystery. Arsalaan Naseer's comic
timing adds more colors to the play. Irafaan Motiwala has also played
his role with such mastery that I wondered about his range as an actor.
There is so much going in the play Ali has to solve riddles he found
h=in his father's diary with Nadia who is nowadays love-stuck when
Chamki disguised as Ali proposes to her. Chamki has found out that her
sister is in love with Ali and she is punishing her. The visuals and the
effects in the play is a cherry on top, they are simply perfect and top
notch. Never ever have I remembered watching Horror Comedy with such
finesse definitely not to be Missed Watch it every Monday and Tuesday
only at Hum TV.
