Case no 9 is quite a bold courtroom drama premiered on September 24 2025 on Geo Entertainment,under the banner of 7th Sky productions. Penned by a renowned journalist and anchor person Shahzeb Khanzada, its his debut play as a screen writer. Case no 9 is executed by a veteran director Wahajat Hussain . The cast includes Saba Qamar and Faisal Qureshi in the pivotal roles while other actors include Aamina Shaikh, Junaid Khan, Naveen, Gohar Rasheed, Noor ul Hassan and others.
Case no 9 is a harrowing courtroom play about a rape victim Saher Moazam ( Saba Qamar) who was raped by her own boss in his own house. The reason why i titled it as 101 for rape victims is because the play has so effectively shown the does and don'ts of what a rape victim should do if God forbid any such thing happens to a girl, without sounding preachy for instance, a rape victim should conduct her medical test without taking bath and also she is not suppose wash her clothes as it may lead to evidence loss.
In case of Saher Moazam her parents has stopped her from going to the police station and her mother has thrown her clothes after making her take the bath. In this way Saher has already weakened her case and her chances of winning the case . The chances of rape victims finding justice in our country is already as low as 3%. The play has effectively portrayed the struggles of victim from police station to going through sharp legal procedures. Gohar Rasheed as Inspector has given his best performance so far as a corrupt officer who silences his conscience against a hefty amount and sides with the culprit.
Kamran ( Faisal Qureshi) has played a chilling villain who plays a cool devil role and he by hook and crook going to save himself from this case. The performances in the play are top notch particularly Saba Qamar's she has so brilliantly portrayed the trauma a victim is going through and Faisal Qureshi's acting too brings chills down our spine when he conveniently manipulates everything . He has eyes on Saher and was making advances on her at office. She gives him a cold behavior on which he plans to teach her a lesson to satisfy his ego. He lies about the dinner at home while he cancels it for others and then he calls Sahar alone and rapes her at his home taking advantage of the situation.
Rohit ( Junaid Khan) is a very complex character he is a mutual friend and the only witness of that crime but he sides with his evil friend for the sake of the company and friendship while he condemns his sin. His wife (Naveen) is helping out Saher in her case which raises doubts in Kamran's wife Kiran's mind that why she is siding with Saher. She doubts at her husband and want to know the truth. Kamaran's defense lawyer is butchering Saher with his bold yet baseless accusations. It also gives us a picture about the legal rights rape victims hold in modern day court room. In short Case no 9 is a Must watch for all!
